$12M secured by Atlys for easier Visa application

Online visa application innovator, Atlys, just secured $12M in Series A funding. The investment round was led by notable players like Peak XV Partners and Elevation Capital, amongst many others.

  • Investors: The round saw participation from an impressive roster including Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Chainsmokers, South Park Commons, the founders of Pinterest, and more.

  • Atlys Overview: Launched in 2021, Atlys aims to simplify the visa application process, likening it to ordering a pizza. It offers a mobile app to make visa application easier, regardless of where you are in the world.

  • Unique Selling Point: Atlys leverages a vast data bank (over one million points) to predict visa approval timings, significantly reducing rejection rates. Founder, Mohak Nahta, cites their innovative technology as a key part of their success.

  • Competition: Among its competitors, Visa2Fly stands out, having raised $414,000 in a pre-seed round led by ODX last year.

  • Market Potential: According to Shraeyansh Thakur from Peak XV, the post-Covid travel surge, especially in India, offers a substantial market for Atlys. Annually, over 10 million new passports are issued in India alone, making visa applications a common problem.

  • Past Funding: The company raised $4.25M in a seed round last October, led by a16z, with contributions from Pinterest co-founders, Ben Silbermann and Evan Sharp.

Atlys has its eye on expansion, planning to venture into travel credit, remittance, and travel insurance.
