clare&me Clinches €3.7M to Elevate AI-Powered Mental Health Care

Berlin-based AI healthtech startup clare&me has announced a major €3.7 million funding round, marking a significant step in their mission to transform mental health care.

  • Funding Details: The funding round, led by Munich’s YZR Capital, includes new investors Kodori Ventures and Material Ventures, alongside existing supporters such as Antler and angel investors.

  • Founding Vision: Founded in June 2021 by Celina Messner and Emilia Theye, clare&me began with the goal of creating a low-barrier, technology-driven therapeutic tool. Their vision predates the ChatGPT hype and focuses on the interplay between human and AI interactions in mental health.

  • Grants Secured: clare&me has also received grants from the IBB, European funds, and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research to advance the development of the world’s first Clinical Large Language Model (CLLM), trained by psychotherapists.

  • Product Offering: Their flagship AI, Clare, provides digital psychotherapeutic support via voice conversations on smartphones. Clare addresses issues like fear, stress, and panic, aiming to reduce barriers, waiting times, and stigma associated with mental health treatment.

  • Leadership Comments: Emilia Theye, CEO, and Celina Messner, co-founder, highlight the funding’s role in advancing ethical, research-driven AI for mental health.

With this boost, Clare&Me is poised to make a lasting impact on mental health treatment, blending cutting-edge AI with compassionate care.
