DCG acquires Lamudi

Australian digital enterprise, Digital Classifieds Group (DCG), has recently expanded its footprint in Asia with the acquisition of online property marketplaces in Indonesia and the Philippines from the Dubizzle Group (formerly EMPG).

  • DCG Acquisitions: This acquisition of Lamudi assets comes on the heels of DCG's purchase of Bproperty, a leading Bangladeshi portal, in January 2023. With these strategic acquisitions, DCG established itself as Asia's second-largest property portal operator.

  • DGC Footprint: The group now operates in five burgeoning Asian markets: Indonesia, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Cambodia, and Papua New Guinea. This expansion has increased DCG's global workforce to over 900 employees.

  • Change of Focus: Founded in 2013, Lamudi initially focused on property classifieds in frontier markets. In recent years, however, it shifted towards transaction-based business models, boosting revenue and growth.

  • Word from the CEO: "DCG and Lamudi have always shared a similar vision: to offer the best and most trusted platform for property transactions," said Kian Moini, Lamudi’s CEO and Founder. He expressed confidence in DCG's ability to guide Lamudi to new growth milestones.

DCG anticipates strong growth in South East Asia in the next five to ten years, positioning it to become a leading region globally.
