Squad Mobility Receives €1.35M Grant
Squad Mobility, a Dutch solar car company, has accelerated its journey with a notable €1.35 million grant for their solar car innovation.
Established Leadership: Founded in 2019 by industry veterans Robert Hoevers and Chris Klok, both former key figures at Lightyear, Squad Mobility brings extensive automotive expertise.
The SQUAD: Squad Mobility’s flagship product is The SQUAD, a compact solar car designed to revolutionize urban mobility, priced at approximately $6250 (excl. tax), featuring a rooftop solar panel and four swappable batteries.
Innovative Manufacturing: Squad Mobility employs a decentralized microfactory approach, assembling the SQUAD in local microfactories near consumer markets, reducing logistical footprint and enhances local economies.
GIANTS Consortium: The grant is part of the €12 million Horizon Europe project by GIANTS consortium, aiming to develop affordable mobility solutions globally, with 23 EU partners, including Renault, Toyota Europe, and Valeo.
